The Singapore Botanic Gardens are huge, free, and beautiful. You can get there very easily with the MRT, and spend anything between 2 hours to the whole day. Today I fancied it up a little bit (#treatyoself), and learned that your expenses can go up very quickly here in Singapore.

Only in Singapore you find a Hindu temple in Chinatown, and a Chinese temple in Little India. A true Asian melting pot. And this applies to the food as well. Today I ate the best noodles I might have ever eaten at "A Noodle Story", a Michelin-recommended Hawker stall in Chinatown, for less than $6. You can't beat that.

Singapore feels very different than any other Southeast Asia country in almost every possible way, except that common Asian spirit. The Gardens by the Bay are just out of this world, and even though life is pretty expensive here in Singapore, you can still eat pretty cheap (and good).
