I visited Kampung Baru today, a neighborhood in KL that feels just like a village. Walking around Kampung Baru feels almost surreal: shanty houses and banana trees with KL's tallest skyscrapers as a background. After a 2 hour bus ride I arrived to Malacca.

The imposing 42m statue of Murugan will welcome you as you go up the 272 steps to Batu Caves. I also "splurged" for one night with a fancy Airbnb that had an Infinite Pool with a great view of KL downtown and the Twin Towers.

Kuala Lumpur is a big, modern, and diverse city. And when I say diverse I mean truly diverse: cuisine, architecture, religion, you name it. The Petronas Twin Towers are so beautiful, and you can get a great view (and pics) from the KL Sky Bar, although expect some pricey drinks.
